McLean, VA – The Foundation of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FFPSA) today announced that it has made a donation in the amount of $5,000 to the non-profit organization, Bake for Life during meetings at the 2016 International Baking Industry Exposition in Las Vegas. Based out of the Netherlands, Bake for Life provides opportunities to young handicapped individuals through the construction of bakeries where they are trained for a career as bakers and ultimately given the skills to support themselves. To date, Bake for Life has launched multiple projects and bakeries in Uganda, Kenya, and Ghana and this donation marks the fifth time since 2012 that the FFPSA has contributed to this noble cause.

“It is an honor to once again work with Bake for Life and provide assistance to people who are actively seeking to improve their lives and the lives of their family members,” said Jeff Dahl, Chairman of the Foundation of Food Processing Suppliers Association. “The funds donated for these projects have a lasting impact within the participating communities as they create employment opportunities and help these individuals support their families.”

“This is one of the projects in our industry that truly make you feel proud to be a part of,” added Ken Hagedorn, Chairman of the FPSA Bakery Council and VP of Sales and Marketing at Naegele, Inc. “It serves as a shining example of what the supplier community can achieve by working together to address issues of common concern.”
