Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) Co-sponsors Sanitary Design Workshop

, VA – The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) is co-sponsoring the “Equipment & Plant Design Workshop for Allergen/Pathogen Control,” held February 9 – 10, 2010 in Chicago IL. Registration for the workshop reached “sold out” status two months prior to the event and has attracted an even split of food processors and suppliers that will attend.

Scott Scriven, incoming Chairman of FPSA and President of Weber Inc., will speak at the workshop along side Rory Redemann (Kraft). Both gentlemen will share their experience of “lessons learned” in the meat industry; what has worked, what has not and how their experience can translate to help other suppliers design equipment to ensure the production of safe and containment free food products.

“The FPSA is proud to co-sponsor and participate in this very important industry event,” said Mr. Scriven. “If we can take what we’ve learned in the meat industry and help translate this to other food sectors, we think that’s one step forward in helping our customers achieve ‘zero tolerance’ standards for food safety in plant operations,” continued Mr. Scriven.

As an equipment supplier to the meat industry, Mr. Scriven will be joined by other speakers from food processing companies including Kraft, Con Agra, General Mills, Kellogg’s, Campbell’s, Nestle, Sara Lee and Cadbury. In addition, Jenny Scott from the FDA will speak about regulatory considerations.
