New England Village Foods of Milford, NH, is recalling all lots of its 5-ounce and 10-ounce containers of New England Village Snacks “19th Hole Snack Mix” because they may contain undeclared almonds and sesame not listed in the “Contains” statement. These allergens pose a serious or life-threatening risk to individuals with almond or sesame allergies.
The recall was initiated after a customer discovered that the almond-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not disclose the presence of almonds. Further FDA review revealed that sesame was listed in the ingredient statement but omitted from the “Contains” statement. The issue stemmed from a temporary breakdown in the company’s packaging process.
