The Meat Industry Suppliers Alliance Foundation Announces Scholarship Recipients for 2021/22 School Year

For Immediate Release, Media Contact, David Seckman, FPSA, CEP/President; McLean, VA – The Meat Industry Suppliers Alliance Foundation today announced it has awarded seven $10,000 scholarships that will be used towards completing the winners’ respective degrees within the meat sciences discipline. The scholarship winners are:
Thadeus Beekman, University of Arkansas Sara Bludau, Iowa State University
Lindsey Decker, Kansas State University Luke Fuerniss, Texas Tech University
Rebecca Furbeck, University of Nebraska – Lincoln Sara Gonzalez Sanchez, Colorado State University
Connor McKinzie, Texas Tech University
“The MISA Foundation is proud to announce its list of outstanding scholarships winners for the 2021-2022 school year” stated Brian Perkins, Chairman of the MISA Foundation and President, Processing Group, Diversified Food & Health of JBT Corporation. “The Foundation Board congratulates the winners and wishes them the best in the upcoming school year and all future endeavors. This year’s group of applicants was especially strong, making our selection process very difficult. It’s nice to see that even during the challenging times we have all experienced over the past 18 months, we have dedicated students working hard to expand their knowledge and establish a foundation for what we know will be successful careers in this industry. I would like to thank our members and participants of the FPSA Auction for their overwhelming support with their donations and contributions that are critical to the funding of our scholarship program.”
David Seckman, President and CEO of the Food Processing Suppliers Association added, “The MISA Scholarship program is the core of our Association’s “Giving Back” program. These scholarships highlight MISA’s commitment to supporting the meat industry and helping students find a career path within it. These scholarships help deserving students pursue advanced studies which will ultimately deliver new methods, new techniques and new knowledge to our industry for the betterment of all.”
