McLean, VA – The Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) Dairy Council is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 Tom Imbordino Memorial Dairy Science Scholarship Program. This year marks the scholarship's fifth year offering two awards of $3,100 each available to students pursuing careers in the dairy and food industry.
Established in 2020 by the FPSA Dairy Council, the scholarship honors the memory of Tom Imbordino, a founding member of the Dairy Council and longtime publisher of Dairy Foods Magazine. Imbordino was known for his enthusiastic support of the dairy industry and his commitment to creating professional development opportunities for emerging talent.
“Tom Imbordino's legacy of passion and dedication to the dairy industry continues through this scholarship program,” said Chris Lyons, President & CEO of FPSA. “These scholarships represent our commitment to nurturing the next generation of dairy professionals who will drive innovation and growth in our industry.”
The scholarship program welcomes applications from junior and senior level undergraduate students as well as Master's and Ph.D. candidates in dairy and food science programs at North American universities. Citizenship is not required for eligibility.
Recipients will be selected based on academic performance, demonstrated commitment to a career in the dairy or food industry, and potential for future success. The selection process includes review of academic transcripts, a career narrative, work experience, leadership activities, and letters of recommendation.
“Receiving the Tom Imbordino Memorial Dairy Science Scholarship has allowed me to meet many intelligent and innovative individuals in the field,” shared Emily Cole, a past recipient from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “It motivates me to meet my goals and reinforces my belief in the importance of contributing to an industry that plays such a vital role in our daily lives.”
The scholarship program reflects the FPSA Dairy Council's broader mission to support dairy industry initiatives and create value for member companies involved in the dairy sector. The Council functions as an industry-focused group that emphasizes dairy-related initiatives designed to drive improvements in FPSA's events, membership programs, and overall value proposition.
