FPSA DAIRY COUNCIL EXPANDS IMBORDINO SCHOLARSHIP AND ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS FOR 2023/24

McLean, VA – The Food Processing Suppliers Association’s Dairy Council today announced it has awarded six $3,500 scholarships that will be used towards completing the winners’ respective degrees within the dairy or food science disciplines. The winners of the 2023 Tom Imbordino Memorial Dairy Science Scholarship are:

                • Grace Clark, Iowa State University
                • Kaitlin Mirkin, Washington State University
                • Akshit Lnu, South Dakota State University
                • Arshdeep Singh, University of Missouri – Columbia

“The FPSA Dairy Council is extremely proud to announce the winners of the Tom Imbordino Memorial Scholarship for the 2023-2024 school year” stated Martin Lutz, Chairman of the FPSA Dairy Council and CEO of ProLeiT Corp. “Thanks to the contributions of FPSA member companies at the 2023 FPSA Charity Auction, we were able to increase the number of scholarships from four in 2022 to six this year. This was helpful given that the number of excellent submissions nearly doubled over last year’s as students in prominent dairy and food science programs are becoming more aware of the opportunity.”

“The continued growth of this scholarship program is a tribute to Tom Imbordino, founding member of the FPSA Dairy Council and a proponent for young people seeking a career in the dairy industry,” said David Seckman, President, and CEO of the Food Processing Suppliers Association. “Tom would be especially proud of this program and the impressive academic talent it has attracted. FPSA and its Dairy Council are confident that with such highly qualified applicants as we had this year, this industry is in very good hands.”
