McLean, VA – The Foundation of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FFPSA) today announced the recipients of fifteen $5,000 Career Development Scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year. The winners of these scholarships are employees of FPSA member companies and family members and  include: Eleni Vogas-Barr (Alfa Laval),  Cameron Scott (A. Epstein & Sons International, Inc.), Samantha Stuart (Bettcher Industries), Arinda Barthel (Cybertrol Engineering),  Isaac Grahl (Dorner Manufacturing Corporation), Sophia Broussard (Ensight Solutions LLC), Mackenzie Fugitt (Interstates Control Systems, Inc.), Louis Klemp (Multivac, Inc), Sarah Schumacher (Provisur Technologies), Emma Hahn (Provisur Technologies), McKenzie Morgan (Viskase Corporation), Ivee Richesin (Viskase Corporation), Zachary Shawah (Whiting-Turner Contracting Co), Socrates Pham (Whiting-Turner Contracting Co), Nicholas Yager (Whiting-Turner Contracting Co). 146 complete applications were submitted to the independent selection committee which represents an increase of 16% over last year’s scholarship program.

“This is an impressive group of winners that should make all FPSA members proud,” said Gil Williams, Chairman of the FPSA Foundation and President of Poly-clip System USA and Canada. “The Career Development Scholarship program continues to grow and helps to make our family members’ educational dreams a reality and assists this next generation in what we know will be long and successful careers. We congratulate the winners on their achievements and look forward to their future accomplishments. We also wish to thank all those who applied. The application period for the 2020-2021 academic year will open in January 2020 and we encourage all eligible individuals to apply again,” added Mr. Williams.

The Foundation of FPSA established the Career Development Scholarship Program in 2005 as a unique benefit to the members of FPSA. It is designed to promote the career and professional development of FPSA member employees who work full time and their immediate family members. Since its inception in 1983, the FPSA Foundation has focused on supporting the growth of the food industry. Over this period, it has touched the lives of well over 2,000 individuals in the early years of their careers through its grants, scholarships and stipends. Many of these individuals are now employed in food, dairy and meat science programs in the nation’s universities, in major food and beverage processing companies, and many in FPSA member companies.
