McLean, VA — The Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) has commissioned Cypress Research to conduct an exclusive workforce study aimed at tackling one of the most critical challenges facing equipment manufacturers in the food and pet food processing industries: the skilled labor shortage.
The 2025 Food Equipment Manufacturer Workforce Gap & Solutions Study will gather data directly from OEMs to identify current and projected employment trends, assess the nature and extent of the skills gap in key hourly and skilled production roles, and highlight effective strategies being used to attract and retain qualified workers.
“This study is an important step in understanding the talent challenges our members face and how we, as an association, can support them with data-driven insights and solutions,” said Chris Lyons, FPSA’s President & CEO. “Our members are on the front lines of this issue, and their input is critical.”
An online survey was distributed to equipment manufacturers in July 2025, with data collection concluding in late August. All responses will remain confidential, and results will be reported only in summary form to protect the anonymity of individual companies.
The findings from this study will be shared exclusively with FPSA members, providing valuable benchmarking and actionable insights tailored to the food and pet food equipment manufacturing sectors.
