Global Reach Confections & More Inc. is recalling Hak brand Kale and Spinach products because of possible contamination with pieces of rubber, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The recalled products were distributed to retail in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, Canada.

  • Hak Kale, 680 g
    • UPC: 8720600609824
    • Codes: LG262 up to and including LG292
  • Hak Spinach, 330 g
    • UPC: 8720600608940
    • Codes: LG262 up to and including LG292
  • Hak Spinach, 630 g
    • UPC: 8720600609817
    • Codes: LG262 up to and including LG292

As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses have been reported.

Affected retailers and consumers are advised not to use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled products. The products should be discarded or returned to the supplier.

About foreign material contamination

Pieces of rubber in food products can cause injury to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract if ingested and may pose a choking hazard. Consumers who have consumed the affected products and experience symptoms such as pain or difficulty swallowing should seek medical attention.
