INAUGURAL IMBORDINO DAIRY SCIENCE Scholarship Application Period Opens
McLean, VA – The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) today announced that it has opened the application period for deserving students studying dairy or food sciences at universities throughout North America. The $3,500 Tom Imbordino Memorial Dairy Science Scholarship was created in late 2020 by the FPSA Dairy Council and is named in memoriam for founding Council member and former Publisher of Dairy Foods Magazine, Tom Imbordino.
“Tom was known and respected throughout the industry and was a strong supporter of professional development for young talent in our industry,” said Martin Lutz, Dairy Council Chairman and CEO of ProLeiT Corporation. “In fact, he was a proponent of creating this very scholarship which now proudly bears his name. The Dairy Council looks forward to receiving the applications of very qualified undergraduate and graduate students and aiding them in getting their education in this important field.”
“This Scholarship Fund was formed with the goal of supporting and encouraging promising students interested in furthering their education to pursue a career within the industry. Members of the FPSA Dairy Council are united in supporting advanced studies within the dairy and food science field,” said FPSA President and CEO David Seckman. “FPSA members and the Dairy Council continue to fund the scholarship program via generous donations and activities with the goal of giving back to the dairy industry and encouraging careers in the food industry to the next generation of qualified dairy and food science professionals.”
The FPSA Dairy Council is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors who take an active role in the review and selection of scholarship winners. For more information on the FPSA Dairy Council contact Andy Drennan at 703-663-1201 or adrennan@fpsa.org.
