Plant-based burgers and hot dogs, hemp infused lemonade and cannabis gummies, single-serve pies and cakes, pet food meal enhancers and toppings, and ice cream that promotes sleep – what do all these products have in common? They were among the many products that attendees at the last PROCESS EXPO manufacture and/or were searching for suppliers to help them bring to market. If you exhibited with us in 2017 ask yourself, how did I position my exhibit to get a chance at this new business?

New business – it can turn a good show into a great show and that is why we have dedicated staff and marketing resources for this year’s show to going after promising new segments, companies, and projects. And while we are doing everything we can to get them to McCormick Place in October, it won’t help you at all if they walk past your booth. What can you do to prevent that?

ATTENDEES COME TO SEE EQUIPMENT. Don’t forget that. Sure, you’re probably already planning on bringing your top 3, top 5, top 10 pieces of equipment, but what about that equipment that might have cross-over appeal in other segments… that equipment that might be used in the next big food trend? Are you planning on bringing that? Obviously, you can’t bring everything but is there something that is worth taking a chance on? Something that, if it took off, would take your “good” year to “great”?

FORGET “IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME”. This isn’t Hollywood and you don’t want to rely on busy attendees just walking by to come into your booth. You need to promote your presence at the show. As you know, this is a crowded show year. You need to get your PROCESS EXPO invitation on your customers’ and prospects’ calendars and the sooner, the better. As always, we give you many free marketing tools to do this. In addition, this year our marketing agency, CSG Creative, is providing significantly discounted marketing services to exhibitors provided you sign up in January. Concerned you don’t have contacts to promote to? Contact me at adrennan@fpsa.org. I’m happy to discuss it with you.

We know this is going to be a great show. We want it to be for you too.
