KANSAS CITY, MO – Following the success of the inaugural Pet Food Processing Exchange, an annual educational and networking event held in Kansas City, Pet Food Processing magazine and Sosland Publishing Company announce the 2025 edition will be held Oct. 19 to 21. Thanks to positive feedback and anticipated growth, this fall’s Exchange will be held at a larger venue — Kansas City Marriott Downtown.
“The inaugural Pet Food Processing Exchange exceeded our expectations,” said Dave Crost, publisher of Pet Food Processing and MEAT+POULTRY. “Hearing so much positive feedback about the quality of our content and caliber of our contributing presenters validated what we set out to do through the creation of this event. Our goal was to create a space where pet food and treat manufacturers could come together to share strategies and best practices to drive the industry forward.”
The Pet Food Processing Exchange will feature general sessions, networking and receptions throughout the 1 ½ day event. There will be ample opportunities for attendees, which will include pet food and treat manufacturers as well as professionals involved in animal nutrition, ingredient development, food science, product development, food safety, processing and packaging technologies, to connect and learn from each other.
“We received positive feedback about the networking opportunities at the inaugural Exchange, and we will continue to prioritize creating an environment that provides opportunities for attendees to develop contacts and relationships that benefit the pet food industry,” said Meyer Sosland, chief operations officer of Sosland Publishing. “Bringing industry stakeholders together to learn from and interact with each other is the primary mission of this event.”
The 2025 event will include a lineup of presentations on relevant industry topics including labor retention, product formulation, food safety and compliance, global trade, sustainable packaging, supply chain logistics, HPP technology, biotic ingredients and consumer research.
“Once again our team has put together an impressive lineup subject matter experts, leading processors and industry innovators to share their insights and perspectives about a range of industry topics,” said Kimberlie Clyma, editor of Pet Food Processing. “The Exchange will also feature two different panel discussions — one on the state of the industry, which is changing on a daily basis, and another on the role of alternative proteins in the pet food of the future. The industry representatives we’ve gathered for these panels will be able to share an insider’s perspective on these timely topics.”
Pet Food Processing and Sosland Publishing have partnered again with industry associations to help attract their membership of pet food processing communities and suppliers to the fall event. The allied affiliates include Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) and its Pet Food Council and Bakery Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA).
