Food and beverage process filtration is crucial for protecting consumers from contaminants including dust, bacteria and parasites. While production demands on sterile gas and liquid filters are greater than ever, the technology has changed little in 30 years–until recently. Colter Marcks, Lead Development Engineer in Donaldson Company’s Process Filtration Division, will discuss how a team of materials scientists and engineers teamed up with Coca-Cola, Nestle, Danone and other food and beverage companies to address three longstanding challenges in micro-filtration: Throughput volume; integrity and lifecycle; and filter replacement. He will discuss the properties of a new generation of filter elements designed around these improvements.
