A Consistently Growing Industry

According to the 2021 Research and Markets study, Food and Beverages Global Market Opportunities and Strategies to 2030, the global food and beverages market is expected to grow at an annual growth rate of 6.1% and reach $7.5 trillion dollars by 2023, $8.6 trillion by 2025, and $11.98 trillion in 2030. You won’t find that kind of growth and stability in many industries!

Demographics Favor the Young

The retirement of more than 75 million baby boomers in the near term creates a challenge for most industries in the USA with the food and beverage industry especially hard hit as it tries to keep up with these growth estimates while feeding a hungry world!

These two factors come together to create a unique career opportunity for young people, no matter what your field of study. On top of that, this is not a short-term trend. New job opportunities are growing across the country at all types of food companies and those that service them.

Guidance for that First Step Towards a Career

FPSA has launched its Student Membership program with one simple goal, to help guide young people to a fulfilling career in the food and beverage industry. To do that, we offer a variety of benefits designed to help you take this first big step into the industry. These include:

Mock Interviews

Meet with FPSA member volunteers both virtually and at live events to enhance your interviewing skills as you consider those first steps in employment after graduation. Guided with friendly advice from someone who has been in your shoes, these mock interviews will help you avoid common pitfalls and help you put that best foot forward.

Fresh Ideas Monthly Newsletter - Hungry for a Career that will never go out of style?

On the third Thursday of the month, a newsletter will be sent to students containing industry trends news, career advice, job listings and much more!

Career Round Table Discussions

Scheduled for Day 3 of Process Expo, this unique session will provide students with an opportunity to sit in small groups with speakers from prominent food processing companies, equipment manufacturers and other professionals who will discuss their experience in building a career in the food industry, and field student questions about the key lessons they have learned.

FPSA Networks including the Women’s Alliance Network

Student members are encouraged to participate in the FPSA Networks which meet on a regular basis to discuss critical issues and share different perspectives in search of common solutions. Of particular importance are the Women’s Alliance Network and the Young Professionals Group.

FPSA Job Board for resumes
