This is an exclusive benefit negotiated by FPSA. If you wish to take advantage of this discounted training, your company must be a member of the Association.
The company benefits by having a more competent, qualified and productive employee at a much more affordable price than sending them out to multiple training courses. The employee benefits by way of improved skills that make them more valuable to their employer. In short, this program is a win-win for both parties.
With over 800 training courses, there is quite a wide range of training courses for all. These courses are concentrated in areas of Technical Skills, Health and Safety, Soft Skills and Employability Skills. Also new to the program, we are now offering training courses in food safety and pet food processing.
These training courses include the online learning module which features realistic graphics, animations, simulations and narrations to facilitate learning the content; study guides for you to refer back to any particular topic in the course; and the post-course assessment (or test) to ensure that you have mastered the concepts from each course.
As many as you like and have time for. The license is unlimited for the 12-month period.
One great advantage that the program contains is that for every module there is a skills test or what is referred to as a “post-course assessment” that ensures each individual’s mastery of that particular course is achieved. Each person must achieve a score of 100% for passage of that particular course.
The program was set up this way to show to your supervisor that you have mastered the topic. If you do not score 100%, the system will allow you to retake the question(s) you got wrong so it shouldn’t take too long to correct your score, especially if you refer to the study guide.
The average course in Valor 180 Skills typically take about one hour to complete, with some being more challenging than others.
The existing library for Valor 180 Skills includes Learning Paths with a range of 5-6 courses, up to approximately 15 courses. It depends on the topic. If you keep in mind that each course on average takes about an hour to complete, a Learning Path could range from 5-6 hours to about 15 hours.
When your company signs up for Valor 180 Skills, it will designate a Team Leader. Based on the goals of your company, and the professional development plan you put together with your superior, your Team Leader will review the courses available in the Valor 180 Skills online library and determine those courses that should make up the learning path for each user.
We have two ways of doing that. Someone from your company can sign up as the Team Leader and track it themselves, or you can ask FPSA staff to provide reports on employee progress. Wither way is fine.
The discounted price for each user license is $349 per person for the year. This license provides training and testing for all of the 800+ courses in Valor 180 Skills online library so the more training you engage in, the more cost effective it is!
No. These licenses are non-transferable. Each employee that your company wishes to train with this program will need to sign up for a user license.
The answer to this questions depends on the member and their existing training program. Some members use the program to supplement what they already have. Others use it to start a new employee’s training program before moving them up to more company specific training, or as a measuring stick one must complete before being eligible for a promotion. It’s totally up to the company how it wants to utilize this powerful tool.
FPSA staff will advise your supervisor if they are not registered as your Team Leader. In addition, a digital badge of course completion will be shared with you and you can place this on social media if you choose.
